Building more knowledge through focus groups

Identifying the demand needs and constraints is definitely one of the goals of the Accent Gastronomy European Project. Between October and December 2016 the University of Girona carried out a survey amongst visually and hearing impaired people and organized several focus groups consisting in gathering as much information about cons and pros of a quality service provided in leisure and gastronomic experiences.

Members of several associations such as the Centre de Recursos per a Deficients Auditius (CREDA) in Salt, l’Associació Gironina de Sords i l’Agència de l’ONCE participated in this focus groups. Additionally, the first contact to business’ involved has been made. Businesses are cooperative society La Fageda, wine and olive maker Empordàlia and restaurants Casamar (Llafranch) and Es Portal (Pals), both members of Cuina de l’Empordanet.

The visit to La Fageda farm ends with a video highlighting the commitment and core values of the company. In the image we see a dark room with the screen, and three people attentively watching it. After this, visitors enjoy a product sample (iogurt, crème brulée or ice cream)
